Not my favorite of dumas' work by far. His view on love and women seems shallow and patriarchal.

Fantastic story that captures the true meaning of love. Incredibly written true story. I love this author, and he has again exceeded my expectations.

Beautifully written tragic love story. Would not be surprised to learn this was the inspiration for Moulin Rouge.

Reluctant at first to continue reading the book since after a couple of pages of reading I became aware that the book is about a courtesan's life, I am glad I went on and read it! Amazing story, sad at times, use of very powerful words to describe emotion. A masterpiece that awaits to be read and experience through senses!

I have read this book several times in my life and every time it has the same emotive effect. For those that don't know, the opera La Traviata was based on this book.
