The Adventure of the Cardboard Box

22 ratings, 2 reviews

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, father of crime fiction, gives us another short story featuring master detective Sherlock Holmes. Famous for his intellectual prowess, his keen observation skills, and for giving Robert Downey Jr. his second blockbuster in as many years, Mr. Holmes is everybody's favorite detective. The Adventure of the Cardboard Box is one of the 56 Holmes stories, and is contained in the collection His Last Bow.

When 50-year-old Susan Cushing receives a package in the mail containing two severed human ears packed in salt, detective Holmes is on the job. It is assumed at first that this is a prank pulled by three medical students whom Cushing was forced to evict, but when Holmes inspects the package he realizes it might be more than meets the eye. A classic Sherlock Holmes case: solved.

This book has quite an absurd story, and a cardboard box is just a backround prop. I suggest anyone to read it, as it is small.
