The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is a collection of 12 short stories by Arthur Conan Doyle, the first in a series of 56 stories that essentially launched the genre of crime fiction. Like many works of literary art, the original is the best and most popular, which some argue is the case with Doyle's collection. The stories from this collection are:
"A Scandal in Bohemia"
"The Red-Headed League"
"A Case of Identity"
"The Boscombe Valley Mystery"
"The Five Orange Pips"
"The Man with the Twisted Lip"
"The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle"
"The Adventure of the Speckled Band"
"The Adventure of the Engineer's Thumb"
"The Adventure of the Noble Bachelor"
"The Adventure of the Beryl Coronet"
"The Adventure of the Copper Beeches"
Take it from the master detective himself: "It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts." So get your facts straight and enjoy these classic stories of Sherlock Holmes.

The classic consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes and his partner Dr Watson face all comers. No case too large or small for Holmes, he is interested in the challenge, not pay. These novels have earned their place as classic literature as well as their place in popular culture that even now, over 100 years later they are still being put into film. You cannot go wrong with A Sherlock Holmes novel.

I absolutely loved this book! It was a fantastic journey into the original Sherlock, cocaine addiction and all. I have a new found love of Sherlock (a character I've always loved in film) and loved the encompassing look into Watson! The way it was written and put together and the story behind what Sherlock and Doyle started in the world of literature is outstanding and a pre-cursor for what a story could do. Without a doubt 5 stars from me.

I empathise with Holmes and Watson so much. If you haven't read these, you haven't lived. Holmes is my role model. Absolutely love Sir Arthur Conan Doyle! Seen all the movies and TV episodes from BBC, and I'm going to finish all the books, too. Sherlock Holmes will stand for time immemorial.

Jeremy brett was the ultimate sherlock holmes, you read the book and you see his face and very true to life acting as him, i can't imagine the name without his face, may he rest in peace for bringing to life the character as good as connan doyle must have imagined it.... And if not, thAt's doyle's bad, and ofcourse misfortune bacause,... Well he didn't live to watch brett perform...
