Robinson Crusoe

Daniel Defoe’s The Life and Strange Surprizing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe of York, Mariner (1719) is considered by many the first English novel. Based on the real-life experiences of the castaway Alexander Selkirk, the book has had a perrenial appeal among readers of all ages-–especially the young adult reading public–-who continue to find inspiration in the inventive resourcefulness of its hero, sole survivor of a shipwreck who is marooned on an uninhabited island.Especially poignant, after more than two decades of unbroken solitude, is the affection that Robinson develops for Friday, another survivor fleeing certain death at the hands of enemy tribesmen from the South American continent.

Reader needs to become more familiar with the written material since the sentence structure and age of the language used make it imperative if the listener is going to get engrossed in the story

The book was fantastic, the reader DID get off to a very rough start perhaps his first read it is apparent that he recognizes this and makes improvements, after a few chapters he is bearable and continues to improve overall he becomes a good reader though a little monotone however the book is worth the listen and as I have said his reading becomes more than fair even entertaining at times my overall rating was 4 stars however the book is a solid 5 and the reader finally earned 3 stars overall .............Book ***** Reader ***

Love the reader. I get tired of people trying to act out the book with all different voices.

Love the book, but the reader was awful. The reader stammered and did not keep pace with the sentences. Quite often it sounded as if he was reading the book for the first time. My 5 star rating is for the book, not the reader.

Awful. Its almost like theve found the worst reader possible. He stutters and pauses half way through sentences and just makes it impossible to listen to the story. There must be better readers to pick as many people complain about it.
