Like a piece of poetry

When i was a young man i asked my father to suggest a book to read. It was The Sea Wolf and i didn't get to read it all. I am making up for that now. It was a perfect choice as it told the story of how a man who had lived a sheltered life had to deal with a cruel captain and in so doing truly became a man. My dad choose wisely. The style may be old fashioned but a great yarn and great insight into the human condition

This was not what I expected, but I really was a good read

One of the best books of all time, timeless story by London that falls in line with the rest of his work while being a little more "cool."

Having had some experiece in sailing, I saw and felt distinctly the upheaval of physical, emotional, and spiritual realms portrayed by the author. A very exciting and thoughtfully challenging read.

Jack London....what a true master of the written word. Every page of this story created in my mind visions of being there with all the characters and and life upon the enormous sea.

Another fine piece of work by a great storyteller. Adventure, action, life & death, the odd bit of philosophy, a touch of love, all presented at high speed: modern als ever.

One more of Jack London's epic adventures. As only he can wright! The very essence of determination, to live, to love & to forgive.

Very good book about how life experiences can change outlooks and judgments of others and also self determination to survive.
