This is James Joyce’s first novel, the semi-autobiographical story of a young Irish boy who struggles with family, country, and religion to become an artist and a man.

Joyce is heavy going but made easier by a brilliant reader .Well worth the listen.

My first experience with Mr. Joyce, so far his simple yet feeling's that he shares, is a story telling style I cannot yet define, other than to say as Realistic and Engulfing as I have yet to compare. Remarkable !!!

I felt like I was bouncing around in the head of someone with severe ADD. Not a fan of James Joyce. Reading was well done.

A good insight into coming of age as an Irish Catholic. The story is somewhat dry and thin but very beautifully written. Narration is great.
