Another outstanding story of scouts in action. Asked to help some boys lost in a coal mine because of their resourcefulness and trustworthiness, these scouts wind up solving a criminal case instead! Improbable? Yes, a fun read? Absolutely! These stories were written to showcase the ingenuity and resourcefulness of Boy Scouts when Scouting first came to America. One suspects the authors of Scooby Doo had read some of these adventures, the whole concept of "meddlesome kids" began with these stories.
