Lots ofmpre-echos of later works, but a fine story in its own right.

This is a very early novelette by this author. interesting that you can see many elements here that developed into the Darkover novels for which she was best known. Not one of her best, but perfectly readable.

Several plot twists-keeps you reading. The first person narrative makes you a willing, or unwilling, companion throughout the adventure.

Fast paced adventure. Interesting world. Sci-fi but on a primitive planet with a fantasy, almost Conan feel to it.
