It was not my favorite book. I don't get the big hype of it. Parts of the book made me super angry by how one group of people can look down on another group and portray them so horribly ignorant. Tom was obnoxious and annoying, but you can't help but fall in love with Huck for how hard he tries to be good.

Great book hadn't read it since high school and I found that I had more vivid memories of this story from the motion picture which changed up a lot but of course the book is ten times better. Awesome.

This is one of the greatest American novels ever written, by a master of the craft of using the vernacular of the time to accent the story. Those of you into vampires need not bother to read this-you won't get it. My grandmother was from the South and I hear her voice when I read Mark Twain. I mourn for the great authors' voices being smothered under the dead weight of political correctness. Read this in the spirit it was written in, back in the day when Negro wasn't a bad word. If you don't get Mark Twain, I feel very, very sorry for you. Donna Gosden, you are ignorant.
