What a great book I stumbled upon. Had a hard time putting it down. It is long but that was good because i did not want it to end. I hope to find other books by this author. Good character development, as well as twists to the plot. I enjoyed the Victorian language/grammer. I felt as if I was really in that time period.

There are snippets of good writings in this book, but how ever, it reminded me of Downton Abbey.

If Jane Austen had written a who-dunnit... This would have been it. A period piece, but an easy and compelling read. I'm happy to have discovered this author at last!

This was a page turner thatI had a hard time putting down. It was evil, spooky, and mysterious with characters to love or hate. An excellent book to read. I highly recommend it.

Slow to get started, slow to finish and guess what? Slow in the middle. Not a bad book, but it lacked the pace of a real thriller and required patience to get through.

Great read, the use of various narrators to tell the story makes it so compelling. Found it hard to put down. Mr Fairlie is such an amusing and frustrating character!

Wonderful characters and interesting way of telling the story. Lots of surprises as the tale unfolds. I'll read more by Collins.
