Anders Bjørn Drachmann  was a Danish classical philologist . AB Drachmann studied classical philology and in 1887 won a competition for a professorship at the University of Christiania , but was nevertheless passed on in favor of the Norwegian LB Stenersen , which caused Elias Blix to leave the government in protest.

He was Dr. Phil. in 1891 with the dissertation Moderne Pindarfortol interpretation and in 1892 became an associate professor at the University of Copenhagen and 1905 extraordinary professor and 1917 ordinary professor. He was president of the Science Society 1933 - 1934 .
